OUR WORK

Animals Alive has undoubtedly helped to change the lives of hundreds of dogs & cats throughout the years.

We are also proud to work together with other local animal welfare committees:

1. No-Kill Coalition Animals Alive/ Animals 360

A joint effort to help rescue and rehabilitate homeless animals and to provide spay/neuter services to low-income households

2. Animal Welfare Committee

In 2019, the Ministry of Agriculture of Trinidad & Tobago brought together this committee to create standards of welfare for domestic & livestock animals. This Committee formed the content that would then guide animal welfare in the revised Animal Health and Diseases Bill.

3. Nurture Nature Campaign

Nurture Nature is a coalition-based campaign comprising 13 non-government organisations aimed at improving animal welfare & wildlife conservation in Trinidad & Tobago

4. Fireworks Action Coalition of T&T

As a member of this coalition, we strongly support & campaign for the responsible use of fireworks in Trinidad & Tobago

5. Project Monitoring & Steering Committee

This committee was established to oversee the responsible & humane implementation of a national Dog Control Act in Trinidad & Tobago

6. PAWSTT (Promoting Animal Welfare Standards for Trinidad and Tobago), a coalition of private sector organisations.

PAWSTT established guidelines on Animal Welfare in National Development in Trinidad and Tobago, specifically relating to companion animals. The objectives were:

  • To have animals recognised as sentient beings and treated appropriately, and

  • To include and prioritize Animal Welfare in national development.
